Top Five Favourite Ultimate’s

decided to list my favourite ultimates from league of legends. However I wrote this is before Illoai was released and her ultimate is devastating but I'm not sure if it would make the list.

Fifth – Sion

This undead juggernaut really lives up to both sides of his name. His passive provides the undead but it’s his ult that makes him a juggernaut.
From the moment you hear his roar you know someone is in for a world of hurt. Like a charging rhino Sion slams into his foes with his Unstoppable Onslaught.
The ability can be used up close for a guaranteed knock up and stun or if you can get a run up you do the same but deal a lot more damage and stun them longer.
This power is fun to use looks awesome but can be tricky to master. He steers worse than Mass Effect’s Mako, so landing a long range run up is hard but enormously satisfying.
I love to play Sion and his ultimate is definitely a part of that fun factor and that’s why he makes it onto my list.

Fourth – Fizz

This fish is an annoying little scamp who’s hard to pin down and can get in and out dealing a ton of damage without taking any in return. It’s a good thing he doesn’t have a lot of CC as well. Oh wait he does.
Fizz’s ultimate Chum the Waters is just plain mean. A slow, knockup, damage boost, an aoe knock aside and more slow, oh and it deals a ton of damage. If all that wasn’t enough it can attach itself to an enemy champ and (skin dependent) a giant shark erupts from underneath you, which looks really cool.
Fizz is an amazing champ and his ult makes him one of the scariest damage dealers out there. A cool looking ult that’s also a swiss army knife of effects assured his place on my list.

Third – Shyvana

The first dragon on my list is Shyvana the half dragon. Like her name says she’s half dragon and it’s the dragon half that gets her onto this list.
Shyvana is a manaless champ (I love them) who build up a bar that lets her transform into her dragon form.
The dragon looks impressive but it’s more than just looking good that gets you onto my list. When in dragon form Shyvana’s moves all get better. Her dragon claw becomes an aoe, her burnout leaves a trail and her flame breath hits in a cone, and if that’s not enough her magic resist and armour passive is doubled making her a bit tankier.
Her jungling is great with fast clear times, good mobility and her dragon form allows for some nice ganks. Watching a dragon leap across your minions knocking you back only to land with you and then unleash its full fury is a scary sight.
Shyvana truly deserves a spot on my list as she is one of my favourite champs to play and a sated devourer dragon will mess up your day.

Second – Ekko

The top two spots were a close decision but I think the number one just ekes ahead, but before that there’s Ekko.
Ekko is the newest champion on my list and one that I have enjoyed playing. His role on a team is still in debate; he’s an underwhelming assassin but has more utility than other assassins, he can be a tank in top or even in the jungle. No matter where he finally falls his ult will always be something special.
It might as well be called reset as it has the potential to reset mistakes or just reset your position to something more favourable. Chronobreak is a high damage move and a great utility move, even though it now costs mana it’s still a ridiculous ultimate that can change a team fight or keep you alive for the next one.
He teleports to where he was 4 seconds before, luckily you know where this is as you are followed by a holographic clone, your enemies can also see this but that’s not always a bad thing. The other team don’t know when you’re gonna hit that big reset button and may just be zoned away from your clone. If you do hit with it deals a ton of damage and even heals you for the damage you took over the last few seconds making a tanky Ekko even more tanky.
Other than a great heal and good damage the things you can do with the ult are really fun. Dropped a parallel convergence behind and your clone is there blink back and stun anyone foolish enough to walk through it. Need to quickly buy that item you are after then recall, buy and ult back into lane. So much fun and can be used by skilled players to do so much or those not so skilled players to save themselves.
Chronobreak is my second favourite ultimate and rightly so.

Number one is Mordekaiser

Now this number one spot is something that I have only recently started playing because I have only got the champ and his latest update has made him something special.
Whether you choose to play him in a solo lane or take him as a melee ADC is up to you. However wherever he is his damage is terrifying and his ult is amazing.
His ultimate might not deal as much as other or offer as much utility what it does do is scare the crap out of the enemy team. Mordekaiser can turn that top player on the other side into an amazing asset for your side with Children of the Grave.
If an enemy dies while marked they come back as a ghost who fight for you. That fed Jinx is now working for you and she’s nasty. While they can only auto attack it’s like your team is one person stronger and team fights suddenly are in your favour.
Once you get that mark on them make sure you kill them so that you can bring them back, just watch out for guardian angels and Zilean ults otherwise your efforts will be wasted.
Now this ability has been part of Mord for a while and alone is very cool, you even get a buff to your ap based on enemy ap. What is new is the Curse of the Dragon and is the reason why he is number one.
If you can kill the dragon then he becomes your dragon and the dragon is mighty. A ghost of the dragon will do your bidding has a ton of health and hits hard. It’s amazing to see and makes getting dragon even more of a priority. You can even get the dragon to tank turrets or help you take down the baron.
Regardless of who is ghosted they also apply your on-hit effects which makes for some interesting build choices.
I must admit that I have now paced Mordekaiser into my main roster of champs in no small part thanks to his ultimate and I expect to see him in the LCS soon.

Honourable mention

Now I play Nautilus mainly as support and I play him as a front line tank late game where his ult is an amazing initiator and I believe has been the reason for winning many team fights.
Targeting a backline character and knocking up a whole team while dealing a not insignificant amount of damage is brilliant.

This move is so similar to Vi’s ult that I could really put her here as well. In fact I will. Both ults knock up and damage and cause chaos in a fight and both champs have a strong kit that lets them follow up with some great combos.

So they both get an honourable mention here.

Agree or disagree with my list let me know in the comments down below. This is purely my opinion and would love to see what other ults you thin are better and why.
